Mark Toland is an international award-winning mind reader. His entertainment is the go-to choice for major corporate and college events around the world. Mark has been featured on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, WGN, NPR, SiriusXM, and WBEZ.

After multiple appearances on WGN TV in Chicago, Mark was hired to create and star in a 12 part WGN Radio Web Series. Mark is also a two-time TEDx Speaker, has been featured in Campus Activities Magazine, and was a featured performer at Disney World. Today, he performs hundreds of shows each year for exclusive events worldwide.

Mark also enjoys running along Lake Michigan, reading, watching classic films, and collecting analog technology including typewriters, film cameras, retro TVs, and more. He is married to his college sweetheart and the proud father of an incredible daughter.

When not performing you can find him walking the streets of Chicago taking film photos or making short films. He prefers a Blackwing Pencil over a ball-point pen and is not on social media.

TIMELINE

In 2023, Mark returned as Artist-in-Residence at the world famous Chicago Magic Lounge, presenting an all-new theatrical experience: The Mystery Show. The show was featured on WGN and NBC in Chicago and had a sell-out run.

In 2022, Mark returned to touring nationally post-lockdown, performing for corporate and college events across North America. There were many shows and media appearances but the highlight was becoming a father for the first time.

In 2020 and 2021 Mark devised an online mind reading experience presenting his Virtual Mind Reading Show for over 500 clients worldwide including Zoom, Uber, Starbucks, Frito Lay, Quaker, Google, Pepsi, and Costco. The show combined years of mentalism experience with Mark’s love of video production for a one-of-a-kind long distance mentalism show.

In 2019, Mark was the artist-in-residence at the Chicago Magic Lounge and Liberty Magic (Pittsburgh) with his hit show “MIND READER”. ABC called Mark “The best we’ve ever seen!” and Broadway World called it “A standout performance of mind over matter.”

In 2018, Mark’s critically-acclaimed one man show “MIND READER” won the prestigious Chicago Theatre Award for “Best Special Event.” In the same year, Mark’s international “Out Of My Mind” tour garnered praise across North America. The show won “Best of Fest” (Kansas City), a “Top 10 Pick” (Kansas City), and “Outstanding Mentalism Performance” (San Diego). Vue Weekly says “Mark Toland is sincerely funny, heartfelt and keeps you in awe!” and awarded the show “⭑⭑⭑⭑⭑” (“Five Stars”) at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival.

In 2017, Mark went on an international tour performing sold out shows around North America. "The Mystery Tour" earned praise and awards from New York City to San Diego, including "Best of Fest" (NYC), “Audience Choice” (NYC), "Pick of Fringe" (Orlando),  "Outstanding Mentalism Performance" (San Diego), and “Top Selling Show” (Chicago).

Mark has also correctly guessed the outcome of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, predicted the headlines of the Chicago Tribune, and bicycled through Chicago traffic completely blindfolded.
